Happy Halloween!

The night was perfect for a spider, Luke Skywalker, and the Mario Bros. to sip a little homemade rootbeer and do a little trick-or-treating.

But not before a Halloween party, a creepy dinner (mi madre rocks), and some fun with the family!

We played many cool Halloween games including . . .
"Bat, Bat, Vampire"

"Don't Eat Jack (the Jack-o-lantern)!"

Help! Jacqui is being attacked!

Luke to the rescue!

The Thief

If you go on a date to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, you'll probably need a babysitter.

If your babysitter is a cute 11 year-old and her 13-year old sister, the younger sister might get a little tired.

And if she gets tired, she just might snooze on your couch.

When you come home, she'll probably jolt upright, a little confused.

If you chat with the older sister about how the evening went, the 11-year old might start wandering around.

She'll probably find a Michaels bag filled with your crafting stuff on top of your cricut. Then she'll study your cricut cartridge box.

You'll probably think, "Wow, she must be a real crafty 11 year-old to be interested in a cricut cartridge, and a real curious one to go through my stuff."

When she slings the Michaels bag over her arm like a purse and hugs the cricut cartridge box like she's carrying a library book home, you'll probably start to worry.

You may look at her again, then look at her sister, who stares at her. Your eyes might go back and forth analyzing the situation.

When she starts to walk toward the door with all of your stuff in her arms you will probably wonder "Do I cry Thief and yank my stuff back or just let her take my stuff home . . ."

When you realize she might still be half asleep, you'll try a more subtle approach. As you gently take the items from her hands you'll say "I don't think you'll need to take these. We can just leave them right here."

Most likely she'll give her head a little shake, look dazed, and let you place your stuff back where it belongs.

You will definitely burst out laughing as you walk out the door to take her home.

Getting Out

We had to get out.
A week and a half is too much to be trapped inside a little house.
We are mostly all better physically.
And today we renewed our spirits.
A little fresh air, exercise, and thrilling downhill rides can definitely do that for you.
Especially when Eric is driving.

I Tie

"I did it!"

The little one is now tying his own shoes!!

The Lecture

After Kyler was caught licking the side of the Macayo's taco sauce bottle, the head of the house gathered us around and declared
"This is now a germ free environment!"
Two sets of big eyes stared up at their daddy.
I'm sure they were thinking, "What is he talking about?"
Eric continued.
He stressed the importance of washing your hands, not putting your mouth all over things, not kissing Grandpa's feet even when he asks you to, "tissues are our friends", wash your hands!
It was the lecture of all lectures.
Understandable, since we are all now down with the flu and Eric's has developed into pneumonia.
Yes, daddy. We will strive to be germ free.

one minute later . . .
The little one is seen licking the snot dripping from his nose.

Germ free environment?
Well, a work in progress.

The Swine Fairy

We got a little visit from the Swine Fairy.
She sprinkled us with . . .um, love?? . . . temperatures of 103, killer coughs, and achy bodies.
This is one fairy we hope never to see again.

The Town to Tough to Die

"The town too tough to die"

Yep, it's still alive. Cowboy boots, gunfights, stagecoach, and everything.
We couldn't resist taking the boys to a real cowboy town while they still love wearing their little wranglers and boots. They were the cutest cowboys in the west.
Hey, wait a second, where's Eric's wranglers?

Fall Break

This week off of school allowed us to have a few adventures in not so hot weather (we're talking temperatures only in the 80's here!) . . .

I took my boys to one of my favorite places my mom used to take us when we were little--Hole in the Rock. We hiked to the top and enjoyed the view.

Arizona Science Center!

We also visited the zoo, worked on Halloween costumes, and watched the original Star Wars trilogy.

Kyler's favorite part was watching Star Wars (even though there were a few sleepless nights between watching the first and the last episode--let's just say he was very concerned about the well-being of the galaxy, Darth Vader's salvation, and those wickedly cool light sabers).

Kacin's favorite was the AZ Science Center because he got to touch a lot of buttons.

Allred Family

Good times with the Allred side of the family: watching conference and visiting the ZOO!

Kyler grew some chest hair.

We all got haircuts.

The attack of the burrito!

Eric is one HOT man.

Baby Bryce was blessed!
